Cuillins from the beach

The crofting township of Achnacloich or Achadh na Cloiche (Scottish Gaelic for "Stonefield") is located on the outskirts of Tarskavaig by the Gillean Burn watercourse.
Achnacloich is 7 miles north of Ardvasar (hotel, pub) on the Sleat Peninsula (the southern end of Skye known as The Garden of Skye), and it stands detached, on a hillside, above a lovely beach and a spectacular shoreline with views across to the Islands of Soay, Canna and Rhum.
It is reached by a single-track road (5 miles from main road) and visitors can come from the mainland either by the car-ferry from Mallaig to Armadale (8 miles), or via the Skye Bridge (about 25 miles).
